Dechreuodd ein pymtheg o fyfyrwyr Codi’r Bar ar eu sesiwn dosbarth meistr cyntaf un gan gyfarfod ag Anne a’i gwaith. Yna fe helpodd Anne y grŵp i archwilio gwaith y dylunydd tecstilau Neil Bottle www.neilbottle.co.uk a oedd ag arddangosfa Y Cwbl sydd Ar Ôl i’w gweld yn Orielau 2 a 3 yng Nghanolfan Grefft Rhuthun. Mae printiau tecstil Neil wedi’u hysbrydoli gan ffotograffau teulu, ymdeimlad o dreigl amser a’r ffordd y byddwn yn cofio pethau - mewn atgofion sy’n real ac yn ffug.
Our fifteen Raising The Bar students began their very first masterclass session meeting Anne and her works. Anne then helped the group to examine the work of textile designer Neil Bottle www.neilbottle.co.uk whose exhibition All That Remains was showing in Ruthin Craft Centre’s Galleries 2 and 3. Neil’s textile prints are inspired by family photographs, a sense of time passing and how we remember things – in both real and false memories.

They were then introduced to Anne’s approach and process, how she uses paper and cloth in a layering and collaged manner. The masterclass was divided into three parts. Choosing and collecting materials, adapting and embellishing these through stamping, printing and drawing.Layering fabric, paper and images by making fabric transfers of photos and using tissue and glue to reinforce paper ready for stiching and to create texture.
The students then began the process of asssembling and composing their collages.
Roedd y cam olaf yn golygu pwytho â llaw, a choladu’r gludwaith yn ddarn unol.
The final stage involved hand stitching, and collating the collage into a unified piece.
